What Public Works of Ancient Egypt?
The public works of ancient Egypt include roads, canals, and temples. These public works definitely shaped the way of life of ancient Egyptians. The Canals helped with irrigation, trade, and transportation. In times of drought these proved to be very useful. The roads were also largely used for transportation and trade. Temples were built for the public to use to honor and worship their gods. Construction of these large temples usually required many workers. Most of these workers were usually slaves, who used scaffolding to aid in the construction process. In many hieroglyphic writings it is depicted as the Egyptians building an irrigation canal or building temples.
